WOYWW 181

I think I managed a full house last week!  At least, there were one or two links I couldn't make work, but other than that... so I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself!  I can't promise the same this week, but I'll do my best.

Anyone baffled by my opening statement has clearly never played along with What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, hosted each week by the lovely Julia Dunnit over at the Stamping Ground.

Make your way there as fast as possible for every Nosy-Parker's favourite blog hop as we ogle the craft desks of the world...

I'm still in my temporary accommodation with my travelling stash.  Last week you saw my lovely early Christmas present - the fabulous Tim Holtz cargo case.
What you didn't see was some of the stuff which replaced clothes in the suitcase (got to get your priorities right, you know).  So I've included these two pictures of the shelves just by the work table.

Lots of lace, and ribbons, and spare sponges, and tapes, and string, and masks, and doilies, and die-cuts bought from ebay, and even an old book for tearing up on one shelf (no, I didn't bring the glass decanter)...

... and lots of stamps on another shelf (nor did I bring the telephone!).

And on the table itself - well, I've just cleared up all the mess from the projects I completed at the weekend, which you'll see over the next couple of days (even later today, perhaps, if I get my act together).

There are a couple of tags where I've been experimenting with the PaperArtsy crackle glaze, and my Thankful Heart which some of you will already have seen in close-up. And the turquoise tag was just where I used up some leftover paint (which gives you a clue to the colours you'll be seeing in the next couple of posts), and tried out a new music stamp.  Just trying on the flower wreath for size...

Lovely to have you stop by today, and I'll be using my lunch and supper breaks again to try to visit as many desks as possible.  For now, happy crafting and happy WOYWW!

You want to be a bit compulsive in your art or craft or whatever you do.
Steve Martin

Yes, I daresay... but compulsive crafting leads to complicated packing!

Well I have done the first 10, then spotted your name so couldn't resist popping in to say hi...I love your temp work desk....and is that the phone I see BEHIND the stamps? I can see what you consider more important (and rightly so!)and clothes?...Pah! Not when you can bring extra craft stuff! ;o)The colours you are using are gorgeous and I ADORE the crackle paint! Happy WOYWW! xxx Laura #51

Was only just wondering about the decanter, Alison,

but luckily you solved this riddle-to-be for me right in time. ;)

That crackle-stuff looks just great! Will have to try this sometime too. And your terrific cargo-case has inspired me to give a Christmas-present to myself too this year. lol

Happy crafting!

Glad to see you mentioned the decanter wasn't in your essential packing!! Mind you, the odd glass of vino is rather nice, for medicinal purposes of course:) Looks like you are having fun with the Paperartsy stuff and the turquoise projects sound intriquing. Happy WOYWW, hugs Buttons #77

Bringing the glass decanter may have been a step too far in creating a home from home, but substituting clothes for sash is perfectly acceptable! Who needs to dress when you have crafting to keep you occupied? ;)

Love from the bears @#78 this week

You really DO have the crafting bug....lol your suitcases must be packed full. xx

I am relieved to hear the decanter is not intended as a Christmas present for me :-)

I am presuming you are not in temporary accommodation across water that requires a plane journey then Alison!
Lovely peeks on your desk and looking forward to seeing the finished projects later...
From one tidy desk to another. It does seem to be working for me!

Ooooh, that turquoise tag is gorgeous...they all are wonderful but the turquoise just jumps off the screen!
You have done such a fab job of packing so that you can stay creative.
We have an RV on a lot about 4 hours from home. It is in a hot area of our province where it rarely rains (unlike the Vancouver area where I live normally)
I thought i was an expert at packing stuff to travel as I like to keep busy up there when DH is out on the boat or golf course. But you are the expert I see!!!
I will have to check out the Tm Holtz suitcase as it really seems to keep everything so organized.

One should always have a decanter of something to perk one up whilst crafting :) Actually, make mine a large mug of tea!!
Lovely tags and bits there - I love that you chucked out clothes t0 make room for your stash!!
And I'm really glad that you enjoyed the carol - I lost about 1.5 hours in Youtube while researching that!!

I wasn't around last week so I didn't get to see the fabulous traveling cargo case, so I had to go back and check it out. That is the most awesome present! There sure is a lot of room in there. I had to laugh at the next set of photos, "What on earth did she bring a glass vase for?!!!" I stand corrected. Of course crafting leads to complicated packing and possibly even the arriving at your destination with no underwear except what you are wearing. We have our priorities right! Love the crackle look on those tags!

Well done! I think I've ever only visited every single one once - quite a marathon now there are so many of us. I haven't usually got the energy to do more than a few each week, I'm afraid. I love your crackled tags - fabulous colours! I adore doing this. Who said it was boring watching paint dry? And look at all your gorgeous stash! I bet you can't wait to get settled in permanently and not have to resort to travelling stash any more.

Thanks for your lovely comment - glad you like my cards! Still a lot more to do and I'm hoping not to go off the boil any time soon! I really want to be doing other things, but needs must!

Happy WOYWW,

I really like your grateful heart piece and the crackle tags in progress look interesting. It can sometimes be freeing to work in a temporary space with fewer things . . . but it can also be frustrating. Looks like you are making the best of it. :) Thanks for visiting me already and happy WOYWW. ~ Laura #108
